Our Story
From Homeschool Project to a Family-Owned Lawn Care Company
Family-Owned and Operated Since 2002
Our company began in 2001 when Steven was 14 years old. As part of a homeschool project, he had to create and run a real business. He built a plan, advertised, purchased equipment, and landed his first customers. By the end of that first season, he had paid off the equipment and even added a four-wheeler and trailer.
After the events of 9/11, Steven asked his dad, Barry, to build the business together as a family. Barry had spent more than two decades working in the Defense Department and the Air Force. Our family prayed about the decision and felt led to take a new direction.
Once we committed, Steven started knocking on doors the only way he could—driving through neighborhoods on a four-wheeler and asking for the work. In March of 2002, Barry resigned, we incorporated the business, and that early season became the start of something much bigger. Some of our longtime customers still remember meeting Steven that way and are surprised by how far the company has come.
For years, we operated as a home-based business with the family running the day-to-day work. As we grew, we outgrew that model and expanded into our current location with room for equipment and office space. Along the way, we’ve hired great people who’ve helped build the company while also building their own careers.
We’ve gone through a lot of chapters over the years, and we’re excited about what comes next. Through it all, we’ve stayed focused on doing honest work, keeping our word, and taking care of our clients and community.
“In retrospect, our business has been blessed throughout the years and can be considered as a ‘Home School Project that got out of hand’!”
