Our Story: A Homeschool Project That Became a Family Business
Our journey began in 2001 when 14-year-old Steven was tasked with a unique homeschool project – developing and implementing his own business. Through this process, he developed a business plan, acquired loans for equipment, and built a small clientele. By the end of the growing season that year, Steven paid for all of his equipment and purchased a four wheeler and trailer. That small start laid the foundation for what would become a long-term family business.
Following the tragic events of 9/11/01, Steven asked his Dad (Barry) to work together as a family. After faithfully praying about the life changing decision, Barry resigned from his 22 year career with the Defense Department, incorporated the business in March of 2002, and our family never looked back. Today, Steven’s Wack-N-Sack serves Shelby County and surrounding communities with the same values we started with.
